Chief of Police

Chief Rose is a graduate of Milford High School and has lived in and near Goshen for most of his life. He began his law enforcement journey as a Police Explorer with the Miami Township Police Department at the age of 14. He was appointed to his first position as a police officer with the Village of Williamsburg in 1997 and soon thereafter moved on to the Miami Township Police Department where he held positions including canine officer and field training officer. In 2004 he was named Chief of Police in the Village of Blanchester and he served there until 2006 when he accepted a position with the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a State Trooper. In 2010 he was appointed Police Captain with the Goshen Township Police Department. He was promoted to Chief of Police in April 2016.

Chief Rose has a Criminal Justice degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is a Certified Law Enforcement Executive, the highest executive level police certification in Ohio. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College, Public Safety Leadership College, LEAD Clermont, and he has an Undergraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management, with honors, from Ashworth College.

Captain Don Hampton

Captain Don Hampton has been in public service since 1997. He started his appointment with the Goshen Township Police Department in 2001 as a line-officer. In 2003 he was promoted to a night-shift road patrol supervisor, where he spent the next thirteen-years. In 2016 he was promoted to police captain, acting as the assistant chief of police. Captain Hampton has a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in law and a human resource certification. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College [PELC] & a graduate of the Certified Law Enforcement Executive leadership course [CLEE]. He is certified as a police instructor & master criminal investigator, via, the Ohio Police Officer Training Commission and has hundreds of hours in advanced police training. 

Sergeant Jeremy Skates

Sergeant Skates grew up in Delta Ohio. He is a 2001 graduate of Pike-Delta-York High School and a 2004 graduate of Owens Community College where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice. He was appointed to his first law enforcement position in 2005 as a Blanchester Police Officer. He earned recognition as Officer of the Year in 2008 and then a promotion to Sergeant in 2009. In 2012 he was appointed by the City of Wilmington Police Department where he held positions including Field Training Officer, Relief Road Patrol Supervisor, Temporary Detective, and Assistant Team Leader on the departments Special Response Team. He was named Wilmington Officer of the Year in 2013.

Sergeant Skates joined the Goshen Township Police Department in 2017 and later earned recognition by his peers, supervisors, and subordinates as the Goshen Township Police Officer of the Year 2018. He is assigned as a day shift road patrol supervisor.

 

Sergeant Cody Collier

Sergeant Collier is a 2009 graduate of Amelia High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He was appointed as an auxiliary police officer with the Goshen Township Police Department in 2013 and was promoted to part-time later the same year. In 2016 he became a full-time career police officer. Soon thereafter he was honored as the 2016 Public Servant of the Year, by the Goshen Chamber of Commerce, for his proactive efforts and criminal investigations success. In 2017 he was recognized with a Criminal Investigations award at the Clermont County Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet.

Sergeant Collier serves as a Field Training Officer, Taser instructor, and he spent time assigned to the Clermont County Narcotics Unit. He is a department leader in OVI and drug enforcement, earning awards for his drug interdiction efforts as the department leader each year 2015-2019. Sergeant Collier was promoted to Sergeant in May 2020. He is assigned as a night shift road patrol supervisor.

Sergeant James Beckelhymer

Sergeant Beckelhymer is a 2006 graduate of Fairfield High School.  In 2007 he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve.  In 2009 he enrolled in the Police Academy at the Great Oaks Career Campus and earned a certification as a law enforcement officer in Ohio.  He was appointed as an auxiliary police officer for several police departments in Hamilton County while attending the University of Cincinnati where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2012.  Soon thereafter, he was offered a full-time position with the Blanchester Police Department.  In 2016 he was promoted to Corporal and was charged with first line supervision, crime scene processing, and criminal investigations.

Sergeant Beckelhymer joined the Goshen Township Police Department in 2019 and was promoted to Sergeant in May 2021.  He also continues to serve in the Army Reserve as a Staff Sergeant.  He is assigned as a Day shift supervisor and a Field Training Officer (F.T.O.).

Sergeant Chris McMillan

Sergeant McMillan is a 2006 graduate of Williamsburg High School. In 2007 he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008, working with the Iraqi Border Patrol in the Al-Anbar Province of Iraq. In 2013 he was appointed to his first law enforcement position as a police officer with Batavia Police Department. During his time at Batavia PD, he held the position of K-9 Handler and in 2017 was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 2021 he was awarded the Criminal Investigations award by the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce for numerous large quantity seizures of narcotics, firearms, and other illegal contraband.     

Sergeant McMillan joined the Goshen Township Police Department in 2021. He was promoted to Detective in 2022, where he was recognized for his investigative efforts with Criminal Investigations awards from Cincinnati Crime Stoppers and the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2023 and currently serves as a night shift supervisor. Â
